Home Care Packages and the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

North Ryde Community Aid is able to provide assistance with both Home Care Packages and the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) in Sydney’s Northern Suburbs. We also offer short-term restorative care. Call our friendly team to find out more about our Home Care services on 1800 722 679.

Domestic Assistance
A popular CHSP program to assist with cleaning your home.

Linen Service
The Linen Program is available fortnightly to change clients’ sheets and provide clean towels. A helpful way to ease the burden of regularly making a bed and laundering sheets.

Accompanied Activity and Shopping
A popular service that provides clients with independence and support in making their own choices. Clients can get assistance with shopping, receive a visit, be accompanied for a walk, appointment or other activity.

Transport
We offer a personal, one-on-one transport service both one-way or return to local medical appointments.

Personal Care
Providing assistance with activities of daily living self-care tasks such in order to help you maintain appropriate standards of hygiene and grooming.

Gardening and Home Maintenance
Our gardening service keeps gardens safe and tidy and home maintenance service assists with light jobs around the home on an ad-hoc basis.

Social Groups

Looking to get out more and enjoy the company of other seniors? Join us for lunch, morning tea and outings. Transport available.

Monday Morning, Armenian Senior Citizens Social Group, Ryde
A welcoming and dynamic group that meets weekly to share a meal, enjoy good coffee and music. The group also has regular bus outings.

Tuesday Lunch Group, North Ryde
A welcoming group who enjoy a chat and a laugh. The luncheon group promotes social engagement and companionship over an enjoyable three course meal.

Wednesday Men’s Lunch, North Ryde
A lively group of gents who enjoy socialising over lunch, sharing stories and the odd yarn. Monthly outings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Thursday Morning Tea, North Ryde
A spirited and energetic social group who enjoy games, good conversation and friendships.

NRCA values social inclusion and our social events aim to enhance the quality of life of our clients and people within the community through social connectivity. We strongly support positive, active and healthy ageing in our community. Transport is available to attend each week.

Community Programs

Emergency Food Relief
Our Food Relief Program provides emergency assistance on a situational basis to those in need in the City of Ryde. We receive support and generous donations from local schools and churches, corporate organisations, local residents and Ritchies IGA which keep our cupboards stocked.

 Food Donations
We gratefully accept donations of in-date tin and dried food to support our food relief program.
Multicultural Mother’s Group
Friday Morning, North Ryde
A group where new mums and their children can enjoy morning tea, conversation, play and new friendships.

Community Lawn Mowing
The continued generosity of North Ryde RSL Club enables us to offer a subsidised lawn mowing service by our three contractors to 200 households in the City of Ryde. Yards are left safe for residents when lawns are mown, and edges are trimmed.

Christmas Program
Hampers full of Christmas food and treats are packed with generously donated items and are given to those NRCA has assisted throughout the year. Many Corporate volunteers assist each year, packing and delivering the hampers and gifts.

Digital Skills Training
Tuesday Morning, North Ryde
A class where participants can bring along their Smartphone or tablet and learn how to use it more efficiently and navigate the many apps and uses.

Knitting and Crochet Group
Monday Afternoon, North Ryde
A social group who meet to exchange patterns, ideas to crochet and knit over a cup of tea.

Qigong Classes
Monday & Friday mornings
Online Suitable for all ages, a gentle form of exercise that can help maintain strength, flexibility and balance.
