St. Andrew’s Village is located in the geographical heart of Canberra and is in close proximity to Woden shopping district – which is home to a Westfield shopping mall, cafes and restaurants, and very modern sports/RSL style clubs. Nestled amongst deciduous trees and established gardens, it is a homey atmosphere yet has the advantages of also being a large site. We aim to provide all levels of care, including dementia and palliative care to our residents so that as far as possible, there is no need for them to move to any other facility if their care needs change.
All residents are accommodated in single rooms with ensuites, and there are communal lounges, a kiosk, separate dining rooms, and secure courtyards that provide a pleasant and safe outdoor area for activities, special events, lunches, BBQs, or simply sitting and enjoying. Residents of the dementia unit also enjoy single rooms with ensuites and a secure environment to prevent wandering, but allow them to move about at their pleasure within the unit. They also have a secure garden allowing them to enjoy the outdoors freely too. All residents are encouraged to both maintain their independence and dignity, and contribute to the life of the village.
Support & assistance is available for showering, dressing, medication administration & supervision, nursing and personal care needs, all provided by our highly qualified, dedicated, and experienced care staff and registered nurses who are available 24 hours a day. We also provide leisure and recreational programs that are designed to support, challenge, and enhance the social, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being of individuals. All laundry services and meals, including specific dietary requirements, are also looked after.
